In order to apply for membership of The Institute of Operational Risk, it is necessary to complete the online Membership Application form, which you can access by clicking on the Membership Application button displayed on the right.
Once you have completed the online form, please click on the "Submit" button. You will only be able to submit the form if you have completed all required fields. Failure to do so will result in an error message, indicating those fields that you need to go back and complete.
Please note that the Institute will take up references from the referee contacts indicated in your application form, to confirm your experience and professionalism.
Your application for membership will be reviewed by two senior members of the Institute after which you will be contacted by the Institute and informed of the outcome of your application. The Institute reserves the right to call any applicant for an interview either by telephone or face-to face.
The award of the highest membership grade Fellow of the Institute is in the gift of the Institute itself. If, in the view of the application review panel, an applicant may have the appropriate experience and profile to be considered for the grade of Fellow, the applicant will be called for an interview with two existing Fellows of the Institute.
The appropriate fees must be paid before membership can be awarded. However, no payment should be made with the initial membership application. If your application is successful, you will be notified of your awarded grade and an invoice will be issued to you for joining fees due.
Once we have received payment of your joining fees, you will also be sent a certificate confirming you membership of the Institute and an Institute pin badge - to wear with pride!
